ASCE EWRI Urban Water Resources Research Council Award
EWRI Lifetime Achievement Award
Established in 2001, the Environmental & Water Resources Institute Lifetime Acheivement Award is presented to members who are judged to have advanced the profession, exhibited technical competence, and significantly contributed to public service, research, or practice in the environmental and water resorces profession.
Qualifications: The Awardees must have demonstrated a life-long and eminent contribution to the disciplines of environmental or water resources engineering or an ancillary discipline through research, education, or public service. Care is taken for the awardees considering discipline, employment, etc.
Committee: The Lifetime Achievement Awards Subcommittee shall consist of winners of the award from the last three years, the Past-Chair of the EWRI Awards Committee, and the Past President of the EWRI Governing Board.
Nominations: The Lifetime Achievement Awards Subcommittee's task is to recommend to the EWRI Awards Committee the names of up to three individuals worthy of receiving the award. Nominations can come from any source. To nominate a peer for this award you need to submit your nominations to the EWRI Lifetime Achievement Awards Subcommittee chair by November 1st. At large nominations must be submitted to the Awards Committee no later than November 1.
In the event that no nominations are received by November 1st. The appropriate EWRI Lifetime Achievement Awards Subcommittee may formulate a recommendation of its own or decline to submit a nomination.
Presentation of Award: The award is presented annually at the EWRI World Environmental & Water Resources Congress or a designated Specialty Conference. Up to three awards may be given annually.
Award Type: The award consists of glass award and a mounted certificate.
1. Best Research Paper
Qualifications: This award is given in recognition of the outstanding research paper appearing in this journal during the 12-month period ending June 30 prior to the selection of the award. Generally, it is preferred that the award be given to a paper not otherwise recognized in ASCE. The award can be presented to papers with more than one author and recipients need not be members of ASCE.
Nominations: Nominations can come from any source, but are normally expected from the Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering Publications' Committee. To nominate a peer for this award you need to submit your nominations to the appropriate EWRI Council Awards Committee chair by November 1st. At large nominations must be submitted to the Awards Committee no later than November 1.

3. Best ReviewerQualifications: This award is given in recognition of the outstanding applied paper appearing in this journal during the 12-month period ending June 30 prior to the selection of the award.
Generally, it is preferred that the award be given to a paper not otherwise recognized in ASCE. The award can be presented to papers with more than one author and recipients need not be members of ASCE.

To nominate a peer for this award you need to submit your nominations to the appropriate EWRI Council Awards Committee chair by November 1st. At large nominations must be submitted to the Awards Committee no later than November 1. Qualifications: The Water Resources Planning and Management Division (now the EWRI Planning & Management Council) of the Society established this award to recognize and honor a person or persons for outstanding leadership, activities, and achievement in service to the profession in the field of water resources planning. Recipients must be a members of the Society.
Nominations: Historically, nominations come from the Planning and Management Council, however nominations can come from any source within the Society; including the institute, councils, local sections, or other organizational units of the Society. To nominate a peer for this award you need to submit your nominations to the Planning & Management Council Awards Committee chair (EWRI Council Awards Committees) chair by November 1st. At large nominations must be submitted to the Awards Committee no later than November 1.

Qualifications: Any task committee under the Institute's purview can receive this award in recognition of an outstanding effort and product.

Qualifications: The Outstanding Achievement Award is an award to acknowledge exceptional performance of an important task or series of activities over a short period of time that advances the work of the environmental and water resources profession. Examples of such performance include unusual achievement in establishing and chairing a task committee, exceptional effort in revitalizing an existing standing committee or creating a new committee, authoring an exceptional paper, or being responsible for the design and implementation of an exceptional environmental and water resources project.

EWRI Expressions of Appreciation
It is customary to recognize the routine service of any member of the EWRI who has satisfactorily completed a term of service on the GB or any committee or council
There are three types of EWRI approved certificates of appreciation:
Qualifications: Award to the outgoing EWRI GB members, outgoing EXCOM members, outgoing members of other committees/councils reporting directly to the EWRI GB and other EWRI members or nonmembers that the EWRI GB feels is especially deserving.
Approval: Only the EWRI GB can authorize these certificates. Normally the certificates are presented at a function at which the GB members are in attendance. However, the committee/council may request approval to present the certificate at a conference or similar event at which the EWRI GB might not be in attendance.
Presentation of Award: The award is presented annually at an appropriate meeting, normally annually at the EWRI World Environmental & Water Resources Congress.
Award Type: The award consists of a certificate. A frame or mounting may be provided.
Qualifications: Given to other outgoing standing committee/council members.
Nominations: The appropriate EWRI EXCOM may authorize the issuance of these certificates and may present those at a time and place at its discretion.

Award Type: The award consists of a certificate. A frame or mounting may be provided. The ceritificate is preprinted with the words "for services as committee or council chair (or other appropriate designation)", the committee name, and the recipient's name.
Qualifications: All other certificates of appreciation (e.g. conference steering committee members, task committee members, etc)
Nominations: The appropriate EWRI EXCOM may authorize the issuance of these certificates and may present those at a time and place at its discretion.
