EWRI Section and Branch Activities Council to Lead Session at the Council of Presidents Meeting

The EWRI Section and Branch Activities Council will be participating in the 2003 Council of Presidents Meeting on November 5, 2002, in Washington, DC. The Council is working with the other ASCE Institutes in facilitating a breakout session titled, "Institutes Role in Supporting Section and Branch Activities." The purpose of this breakout session is to receive input on how the Institutes can be of further service to the Section and Branches. A few initial ideas include: providing a speakers bureau, assistance starting a local technical group, publicize technical conferences and continuing education opportunities. An additional goal of the session is to learn how the Section and Branches can support the Institutes, for example have Section and Branch leaders participate in specialty conferences held in their region.
