ASCE Board Specifies Voluntary Contributions for Institute Members Brian Parsons, EWRI Executive Director
Brian Parsons, EWRI Executive Director
Fluctuations in the economy during the 2002 investment year have caused many investors, including associations, to experience a belt-tightening due to economic uncertainties. This concern, accompanied by rising program costs, has impacted the ASCE FY03 budget process.
The ASCE Board of Direction is undertaking a number of actions to allow the Society to continue a high level of service to its members. Included among those actions will be a request for ASCE Members who are also members of an ASCE Specialty Institute to make an additional voluntary contribution in support of Institute activities when renewing their ASCE membership for 2003. In accordance with the Board's action, ASCE/EWRI members will be asked to consider a voluntary contribution of $25. The $25 contribution is optional and will not affect an individual's Institute membership. ASCE/Institute Members who renew their ASCE membership, but chose not to make the voluntary contribution will retain their Institute membership with full rights and benefits.
If you are willing and able to make this contribution, please do so. These funds will allow the EWRI to better serve its members through expanded programs and benefits, such as support to technical committees, conferences, publications, continuing education courses, and regional seminars. Thank you for your membership and for your continued support of the EWRI.
