2003 World Water and Environmental Congress

The 2003 World Water and Environmental Congress, to be held in Philadelphia, June, promises to be an extraordinary conference.

The theme of the Philadelphia Congress is "Protecting and Preserving our Environment for the Future", and well over 600 abstracts were submitted in response to the Call for Papers, covering a wide spectrum of topics. Technical Committees from throughout EWRI are coordinating sessions and taking the lead to ensure the quality and consistency of those sessions. Plenary speakers will address the Congress on International, National, Regional and Local issues.

The Committee is also making sure that leisure time is well spent by organizing a "Taste of Philadelphia" reception for the opening night - complete with Ben Franklin in attendance and that other famous Philadelphian - the Cheesesteak! Other planned activities include an elegant reception at the Historic Philadelphia Waterworks, visits to the sites that make Philadelphia the Cradle of the United States, family-friendly activities, tours of world-famous gardens and technical tours to local areas of interest. Families are encouraged to come to Philadelphia, and make this a family holiday not soon forgotten.

Nearly 1000 attendees participated in Orlando in 2001, and many more are expected in Philadelphia. The website will be updated regularly with details on the conference and related activities. Please check periodically for the latest information. Don't miss this important Congress.
