2003 Environmental & Water Resources Engineering Student Paper Competition - Call for Papers
The Student Paper Competition is an annual event sponsored by the EWRI of ASCE. Any technical or editorial subject related to environ-mental and/or water resources is appropriate for this competition. Judging will be by members of the EWRI Student and New Professional Activities Council and engineers from industry. Papers will be rated on the following basis: Technical Content 35%; Demonstrated Knowledge 20%; Originality 25%; Presentation 10%; Clarity 10%.
Any member of an ASCE student chapter may enter the competition, and submit a paper that has not won a prize in any previous national competition. The paper must be completed with minimal faculty involvement. Two categories will be considered: graduate and undergraduate. Previous winners in the undergraduate category may enter only in the graduate category. Grand prize winner is not eligible for future competitions.
Paper format: single spaced, with a 1 /2 page abstract, 12 point font, 1-in margins. Length: 6- 8 pages, one-side, standard 8 1 /2 x 11 in paper. Do not put your name or affiliation anywhere on the paper. Your ASCE faculty advisor must complete an original paper copy of eligibility form for each paper by March 7, 2003. Electronic version must be received by March 15, 2003. Winners will be notified by March 31, 2003.
AWARDS: One $1000 Grand Prize; Each Category: 1st Place $500; 2nd Place $250; 3rd Place $125
