Artificial Recharge of Groundwater Standards Committee

The Artificial Recharge of Groundwater Standards Committee (ARGW SC) met last November in San Jose, CA. The committee has set up three sub-committees, the first two of which will produce standard guidelines on the subjects below.

  • The new sub-committee on Land Subsidence has the goal of bringing together information on the locations and types of subsidence, measurement techniques and equipment.

  • The Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) sub-committee will have the goal of listing locations and details of ASR installation, conditions under which ASR is, or is not, appropriate. Water quality issues would also be addressed.

  • The sub-committee on training will update material to bring current programs up to date and develop new ones. For the new and old programs a wide range of methods will be listed and described.

The committee is seeking new members who may have an interest in one of the sub-committees. Inquires should be made to Ivan Johnson (fax 303-425-5655) or Don Finlayson (dondocfun@aol.com). The ARGW SC welcomes you to attend their meeting on June 21, 2003.
