2005 EWRI Official Governing Board Nominee
After reviewing several nominations, the Nominating Committee recommended, and the Governing Board agreed, that Kyle E. Schilling, P.E., DEE become the EWRI Governing Board Official Nominee for the 2005 position of EWRI Vice President. The position on the Board will start on October 1, 2005. Kyle retired from Federal service in 1999 and he remains professionally active as a consultant. In his most immediate past position, he directed the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Institute for Water Resources (IWR) in Alexandria, VA, the Water Resources Support Center (WRSC), the Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) in Davis, CA and the Navigation Data Center (NDC) with offices in New Orleans, LA. The Drought, Federal Infrastructure Strategy, and National Wetlands Mitigation Banking studies are example projects with a high degree of political, public, professional and academic interest and relationships for which his executive leadership was provided. An ASCE Honorary member, Kyle has been an active member of EWRI for several years and serves on various councils and committees. Most recently he has served on the Planning & Management Council, the International Cooperation Council, the EWRI Awards Committee and the newly formed Knowledge Management Task Committee. An active participant in the Aspen Institute Dam Removal study, Kyle recently co-chaired a series of workshops based on the findings of this study entitled Dam Removal: Lessons Learned. Kyle also serves as a peer reviewer for the ASCE Peer Review for Public Agencies Program. Any EWRI member in good standing may file a petition nomination for the V.P. position with the EWRI Executive Director. Petitions must be in accordance with the EWRI bylaws.
