Planning and Management Committee Form New Task Committee

The Planning and Management Committee of EWRI has formed a Task Committee that will assess the status of state water resources planning. The major activities will involve designing, conducting and documenting the results of web-based research of state water resources planning strategies, priorities, and capacity. These results will be used to appraise existing planning tools and needs. The subject initiative will address selected issues to include status of water resources plans, water resources management priorities, decision support tools used, integration of resource management programs, Federal support, sustainability, scale of planning analysis, and performance measurement. Once the survey results for each state are compiled, trends will be reviewed and assessment of planning progress and needs will be offered. This will be a valuable reference document that will set the stage for closer review and development of selected water resource planning issues.
