WISE SC Committee

November 4, 2002 – The WISE SC (Water Infrastructure Security Enhancement Standards Committee) met in Washington, D.C. on the Monday of the 150th Anniversary meeting.

Basil Steele with ASIS and Sandia National Labs conducted a workshop on Sandia’s Risk Assessment Methodology for Water (RAM-W).

Items discussed:

  • A proposal for $1.5 million per year for 3 years to be sent to EPA.

  • EWRI will discuss with WEF and AWWA the procedure for modifying those publications that WISE SC wants to alter.

  • Three subcommittees were established the Wastewater Stormwater Subcommittee, the Methodology & Characteristics Subcommittee, and the Water Suppy Subcommittee.

  • The WISE SC’s publications will be directed toward malevolent acts.

  • Representatives from the City of Seattle will be invited to attend the next WISE SC meeting to discuss the problems they had implementing RAM-W1 (Risk Assessment Methodology) and RAM-W2.
