University Adds Environmental Degree

At the University of Missouri at Rolla, both the civil engineering program and the building that houses it are in line for a facelift. The university will offer a new undergraduate degree program this year, environmental engineering, to be based in the newly renovated and expanded Butler- Carlton Civil Engineering Building. The environmental degree will round out the department’s offerings in this subject, which include both masters and doctoral programs in environmental engineering. The program includes courses in water resources and wastewater engineering, geoenvironmental engineering, air pollution and control, environmental chemistry and processes, and environmental microbiology and processes. Additional information on the new program is available at www.umr.edu/~civil/.
