Technical Activity Executive Committee Seeking New Chair

Phil Burgi
Phil H. Burgi, P.E., M.ASCE, outgoing TAC ExCom Chair.
Thanks Phil!

The EWRI Technical Activities Executive Committee (TAC ExCom) is seeking a chair for the FY 2004-2006 to replace outgoing chair, Phil Burgi. The chair of the TAC ExCom also serves a three-year term on the EWRI Governing Board as representative of the technical areas of EWRI.

The purpose of the technical activities area is to promote member volunteer activities within the technical/professional area of EWRI through task committees established to develop technical products. The Executive Committee's goal is to insure good communications between the EWRI Governing Board (GB), the seven technical councils and the Product Development and Member Services areas. The ExCom consists of nine members representing the seven technical area councils plus an EWRI GB member who serves as Chair and a Vice-chair.

The chair for the TAC ExCom is responsible for ensuring that the EWRI GB is informed about EWRI technical activities, particularly those activities requiring EWRI GB approval, and implementing policies and procedures established by the EWRI GB.

The ExCom chair has responsibility to attend three Governing Board meetings as well as three ExCom meetings during the year. The chair is also involved in a minimum of six conference calls during the year and is available by email for council and leadership among the seven technical activity areas.

The TAC ExCom, subject to concurrence of the GB, selects the ExCom chair that serves a three-year term on the EWRI GB. If you are interested in being considered for this very important position as Chair of the TAC ExCom and serving on the EWRI Board, please submit the EWRI Executive Committee Nomination Form to Brian Parsons, Executive Director, EWRI by April 1, 2003. The nomination form is available on the EWRI web site or by contacting Brian Parsons at bparsons@asce.org.
