Congress registration is scheduled to open
in March. Attendees are encouraged to register early for the 2003 World
Water and Environmental Resources Congress, to be held at the Adams Mark Hotel
in Philadelphia, PA on June 23-26, 2003. Make your conference plans before May
23rd and receive discounted registration rates.
Based on the response to the Call for
Abstracts, attendance in Philadelphia is expected to exceed that of the Orlando
2001 Congress. The theme of the Philadelphia Congress is "Protecting and
Preserving our Environment for the Future", and because of this overwhelming
response from our members, the Congress organizers were able to choose the very
best papers to be presented at the Congress. National and locally recognized
speakers will address the Plenary Sessions on Monday and Wednesday, and include
EPA Assistant Administrator for Water, Tracy Mehan; Carol Collier from DRBC
speaking on Regional issues; and Howard Neukrug from the Philadelphia Water
Department to speak on local issues.
Philadelphia is a U.S. cultural and
historical institution, but it is also a wonderful place to enjoy a vacation
and a meal. Opportunities for visitors who are young and not-so-young will have
them entranced while you are participating in the educational sessions. Then,
be sure to join them and explore this fascinating region yourself to take in
the history, culture, natural beauty and pure joy of it from the Please
Touch Museum to the Liberty Bell to the fabulous gardens at Longwood,
from the Cheesesteaks to the four-star restaurants, you will love it in and
around Philly!
The conference website is updated regularly
with details on the conference and related activities. Please check
periodically, at www.asce.org/conferences/ewri2003, for the latest information.
Register early and reserve your hotel room so you don't miss this important
Congress.
